The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across the country beginning June 25, with the first spell of the monsoon expected to start on the evening of June 24 and continue through July 2.
According to the weather advisory, rain is expected in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Sheikhupura between June 25 and 29. Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum are likely to experience thundershowers from June 26 to 28.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, cities such as Abbottabad, Mansehra, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Kohat, and Bajaur are expected to receive rainfall, with heavy showers anticipated in Dir, Malakand, Buner, Shangla, and Kohistan.
Rain is also predicted in parts of Balochistan, including Zhob, Barkhan, Quetta, Mastung, and Ziarat, as well as in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from June 25 to 28.
The PMD has warned of potential landslides in hilly areas and urban flooding in low-lying regions between June 26 and 28. Authorities have been advised to stay alert and take precautionary measures.
While the rain may provide relief from the intense heat, the public is urged to remain cautious and adhere to safety guidelines during the weather spell.
