Nicola Peltz Beckham has intensified her legal battle with Westchester-based groomer HoundSpa, accusing the business of withholding client records that might show other pets were harmed.
The actress, 30, filed new court documents last week seeking access to the company’s customer list, alleging that other pets may have been injured under its care.
Peltz first sued HoundSpa, owner Deborah Gittleman, and groomer Jonny Ceballos in 2024 after her eight-year-old chihuahua, Nala, died in May 2024 just hours after a grooming session.
The previously healthy dog returned in severe distress and later died with fluid in her lungs, neurological symptoms, and an extremely rapid heart rate. Peltz argues the death resulted from “intentional and malicious abuse.”
Her lawyers say HoundSpa has refused to hand over the requested records, leaving both sides “at an impasse” after unsuccessful meetings in October and on November 18.
The filing argues that multiple HoundSpa customers have reported injuries to their dogs and that the client list could identify additional cases relevant to proving intent.
HoundSpa holds mixed reviews online, with several one-star reviews alleging cuts, trauma, and poor handling. Supporters of Peltz have also flooded the company’s Facebook page with criticism.
Attorney Tony Siano, representing Gittleman, dismissed Peltz’s latest filing as a mere argument and said the case will be handled in court, not on social media.
