Rosalía has offering a rare look into her emotional world, and how loneliness shapes her art.

During an appearance on the New York Times’ Popcast, the Spanish superstar reflected on the personal struggles that inform her creativity. 

The 33-year-old recently released her fourth studio album, Lux, on November 7, 2025.

Asked how she copes with feeling alone, Rosalía did not shy away from honesty.

“Loneliness is my lesson in this life,” she shared. 

“I struggle so much with feeling lonely. I really don’t like loneliness. I’m a very social person. I like to be surrounded by my friends. I like to be surrounded by my family.”

The La Perla singer admitted she thrives on emotional connection, “I love having a significant other and sharing with a significant other. I love affection. I think that I always need to believe that there’s a possibility of… have faith in love.”

When the interviewer called her a “romantic,” Rosalía laughed and agreed she is “too much” of one. 

They then noted that being both a romantic and a “serial monogamist” can be complicated.

Rosalía acknowledged the conflict of balancing her personal life with a global career. 

“I always find myself having to be in a different country that is not where I come from in order to do my job… in order to pursue this path,” the La Fama artist explained.
