Billie Eilish gets candid about love, pleasure, and body image

Billie Eilish’s upcoming album is partly about her journey discovering her sexual orientation.

In a candid interview with Rolling Stone, the chart-topping artist opened up about her sexuality and how a new song called “Lunch” helped her process her feelings.

“That song was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real,” Eilish said of the track, which features on her forthcoming album “Hit Me Hard and Soft.”

Eilish revealed she wrote parts of “Lunch” before ever being with a woman and the “rest” of it “after” having that experience.

In her song, the nine-time Grammy winner uses the unconventional metaphor of “devouring a meal” to capture the all-consuming nature of this newfound love.

Eilish also spoke about how exploring her body has helped her deal with her “body dysmorphia” and embrace herself.

This revelation comes after Eilish’s previous public relationships were with men, most recently The Neighbourhood’s frontman Jesse Rutherford.

The pair reportedly ended things amicably in May 2023 and remain friends.

With “Lunch” listed as the second track on “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” fans can expect a more personal and introspective side of Billie Eilish when the album drops on May 17.
