Alhamra Sufi Festival draws massive crowds on second day

LAHORE  –  The second day of the Alhamra Sufi Festival 2025 attracted thousands of visitors to the Alhamra Arts Center, The Mall, where a series of spiritual, literary and musical activities created a vibrant cultural atmosphere. The day opened with a session titled “Punjabi Sufi Poetry and Its Message for the Youth,” featuring scholars Nain Sukh, Dr Sughra Sadaf, Dr Imdad Hussain and Yousaf Punjabi. Alhamra Executive Director Mahboob Alam presented souvenirs to the speakers and said that Sufism reflects the cultural and spiritual expression of Islam, adding that the strong participation of youth shows their interest in reconnecting with their heritage. Throughout the day, bookstalls, handicraft displays and food courts remained busy as families and students explored the festival grounds. Visitors praised the festival’s ambience, calling it a refreshing and uplifting cultural experience. In the evening, Hall 2 was filled to capacity for the Sufi Night featuring renowned vocalist Tehseen Sakina, whose performances received strong applause. Later, qawwali performances further energized the audience, adding to the festival’s spiritual appeal. The Alhamra Sufi Festival continues to draw large audiences and concluded on Sunday night.
