FAISALABAD – The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) arranged a mega cat show based on breed wise, kitten and adult class and face type at University Heritage. Faculty of Animal Husbandry in collaboration with Pakistan Pet Club has organized the show on special directives of UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali. A large number of cat lovers thronged the varsity to enjoy the moments of cat beautification show. It attracted a large number of enthusiasts, families, and participants from across the country. Addressing the gathering, Dean Faculty of Animal Husbandry Dr Qamar Bilal said that the show aimed to promote responsible pet ownership, create awareness about various cat breeds, and provide a platform for breeders, experts and cat lovers to connect. He emphasized the vital role of such events in fostering a better relationship between society, farmers and researches. He said that it is ritual of the university to hold such events that not also provide an opportunity to the people to get refuge from monotonous routine but also flourish the different breeds. “The University of Agriculture is committed to agricultural excellence, animal and livestock welfare”, he added.Nouman Ashraf President Pet Club said the competition featured a diverse array of breeds, including the popular Persian, Himalayan, Siamese, Scotch Fold, and British Shorthair, among others. Director Animal and Dairy Science Dr Riaz Virk, Dr Khalid Bashir, Dr Mahboob Ali, Dr Faisal Hamid, FCCI Secretary Muhammad Ayub , Chairman All Pakistan Private School Sadaqat Hussain, Vice President PPC Adnan Ahmad, General Secretary Saib Rehman, Dr Waseem Abbas and other notables spoke on the occasion.
Cat poster contests were also held in the university.
