Glenn Close censored for profanity during Golden Globe speech

Glenn Close caused a stir during the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday when her speech before presenting the Best Motion Picture — Drama award was censored.

The actress shared a letter she had received from the late Katherine Hepburn, where Hepburn described acting as both a “terrifying” and “delicious” profession. However, Close went off-script, declaring, “We are all so f—ing blessed and lucky,” prompting the CBS censors to cut the audio feed.

While viewers heard a brief silence during the live broadcast, an uncensored version of Close’s speech was later uploaded to YouTube. Despite the slip-up, Close continued with her role, presenting the Best Motion Picture award to Director Brady Corbet and the cast of ‘The Brutalist’.

Close was not the only one censored during the show; portions of Seth Rogen’s raunchy segment with Catherine O’Hara and Zoe Saldaña’s comment before accepting her award were also muted.
